2016 ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships

The following pages are intended to provide detailed information for National Federations, Team Managers and Coaches in the lead up to the 2016 Cross Tri World Champs.

Race entries are now open through the LOC Entry System and the ITU website.

Entries to all ITU events including Elite, U23, Junior, Mixed Team Relay, Paratriathlon and Age Group Standard must be completed by each National Federation only.  Entries by individual athletes cannot be accepted.

Entries and receipt of payments will be managed by In2Adventure, the Event Managers for the 2016 Snowy Mountains ITU World Cross Triathlon Championships.  Questions regarding entries should be directed via email to entries@in2adventure.com.au

ITU World Championships Events

Entries to all ITU events including Elite, U23, Junior, Mixed Team Relay, Paratriathlon and Age Group Standard must be completed by each National Federation only.  Entries by individual athletes cannot be accepted.

Age Group Standard Distance Entries
  • All Age Group entries for the standard distance event are to be completed using the LOC entry form provided.
  • Entries close on Friday 16th September 2016 at 4pm AEST. At this time all entries must have been received by the Event Managers via email to entries@in2adventure.com.au

 

Elite, U23, Junior U19 and Paratriathlon Entries
  • All entries in these categories are to be made via the ITU website.
  • Entries for these categories close on Friday 14th October at 4pm AEST. At this time all entries must have been received via the ITU Online Entry System.

 

Mixed Team Relay Entries
  • All Team Relay entries are to be completed using a separate copy of the LOC entry form provided.
  • Entries for this event close on Friday 14th October at 4pm AEST. At this time all entries must have been received by the Event Managers via email to entries@in2adventure.com.au

 

Qualification

The qualification criteria for athletes to enter the World Championships are published on www.triathlon.org

All visitors to Australia require a visa for their visit.  You can find out more information about this from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection here: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visi

The LOC will provide a letter of invitation for athletes to support visa applications if required.  Requests for this should be directed to entries@in2adventure.com.au

By entering the 2016 Snowy Mountains ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships through their National Federation, all competitors agree to the terms and conditions of entry, and the release and waiver.

Qualification

Start Lists

The start list can be downloaded from the ITU website at http://www.triathlon.org/  after the close of entries.  Use the Microsoft Excel icon located above the start list on the top right of the Event Page.

Medical

First aid and medical services will be provided during competition times at the race site and on course.  Hospital and further medical treatment is at the cost of the competitor.  All athletes and team support should therefore ensure that they have the appropriate medical insurance in place.  It is a condition of entry under ITU rules that all competitors carry this insurance.

Medical Conditions

National Federations are required to provide a list of competitors’ pre-existing medical conditions on the LOC Entry Form Spreadsheet.

Team Managers

Each National Federation is to nominate a Team Manager as the point of contact for that team whilst at the event and include details on the Age Group Entry Summary and/or the Elite Entry Summary.

In the event that a National Federation does not have a dedicated Team Manager travelling with the team they are to nominate one team member to be the Nominated Team Manager for the period 14th to 21st November 2016.

These contact details will be used by the Event Managers for ALL communications between 14th and 21st November.  The nominated representative will be responsible for communicating all information received during this time to their team members.

Team Coaches

Each National Federation is to identify their Head Team Coach and include details on the the Age Group Entry Summary and/or the Elite Entry Summary.

In the event that a National Federation does not have a dedicated Team Coach travelling with the team they are to nominate one team member/member of the travelling party to be the Nominated Team Coach representative.

National Federations will be solely responsible for payment of all race entry fees.

Age Group Athletes

National Federations will enter their Age Group athletes by submitting the completed LOC Entry Form Spreadsheet provided.  ALL details MUST be completed for each athlete for the entry to be accepted.

A National Federation Age Group Entry Summary must also be provided to the Event Managers via entries@in2adventure.com.au  by the cut-off dates below.

The Event Managers (In2Adventure) will issue an invoice once the Entries Spreadsheet and the Entry Summary have been cross checked.

Team Relay

National Federations will enter Team Relay athletes by submitting the completed LOC Entry Form Spreadsheet provided.  ALL details MUST be completed for each athlete for the entry to be accepted.

A National Federation Elite Entry Summary must also be provided to the Event Managers via entries@in2adventure.com.au  by the cut-off dates shown below.

The Event Managers (In2Adventure) will issue an invoice once the Entries Spreadsheet and the Entry Summary have been cross checked.

Elite, U23, Junior U19 and Paratriathlon

National Federations will enter their Elite, U23, Junior U19 and Paratriathlon entries through the ITU Online Entry System, they must provide a completed National Federation Elite Entry Summary to the Event Managers via entries@in2adventure.com.au  by the cut-off dates shown in LOC Entry Procedures above.

The Event Managers (In2Adventure) will issue an invoice once the Entries have been received from the ITU and the Entry Summary has been cross checked.

Invoices and Payment

The Event Managers (In2Adventure) will send a Tax Invoice with payment terms of 7 days directly to the National Federation as detailed on the National Federation Entry Summary with direct bank deposit details, payment advice is to be emailed to the Event Managers via entries@in2adventure.com.au immediately once payment is made.

All payments must be received by the invoice due date and notified via email as shown above.

It is the responsibility of each National Federation to ensure that the correct amount as shown on the invoice in Australian Dollars is received by the Event Managers, all fees and charges payable due to the direct bank deposit are the responsibility of the payer.

Non-payment of Fees

Only competitors whose entry has been paid in full to the Event Managers by the National Federation will be approved to compete and will appear on the official start list.

Each National Federation will be notified on receipt of payment and any shortfall in the payment amount will be notified at this time.

Late entries past the dates shown in the LOC Entry Procedures may be accepted at the discretion of the Event Managers.

If there is a request for an athlete to compete and the athlete is not on the start list, it has to be communicated to:

Athletes will only be accepted on to the start list if the athlete’s National Federation confirms and approves the participation of the athlete and pays their entry fee immediately.  The National Federation must confirm payment via email to entries@in2adventure.com.au
